EJ57 – Field Service Engineer

Location: London

Salary: Circa £32,000 + company car


Our client is the market leader in smart wireless hygiene-task and temperature monitoring systems, for application to the safety of food and other perishable products. They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, service and calibrate their dedicated wireless systems and maintain or replace mains networked systems at existing client sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Field Engineering Responsibilities

• Install and commission the company products within time allowances to the directed standards.

• Attend site meetings as required and report back.

• Complete all breakdown, add-on, upgrade and annual service work within time allowances to the directed standards

• Log on and off PDA at start and finish of day and work to the agreed schedule, logging completion of visits and related travel time

• Maintain a close relationship with the Customer Service Team to ensure that the client is kept fully informed of rescheduling and changes to arrival times on site

• Complete job records on site at the end of each visit with all parts used correctly recorded, ensure signed and leave printed copy with customer

• Comply with all customer service and engineering systems and procedures

• Highlight product defects and software bugs on job reports and log on to Mantis

• Keep vehicle stocks in good order and condition, carrying out stock takes as required

• Submit all paperwork correctly completed and on time

• Complete all work safely in accordance with company and customer (site) health and safety requirements

• Comply with all company obligations as per Contract of Employment and the Company Handbook

Client Relationship Responsibilities

• Be courteous and promote the reputation of the company at all times, taking a positive attitude to rectifying problems

• Agree to investigate apparent internal company failures rather than blaming others

• Generate leads for add-on and upgrade sales by developing close customer relationships.

• Foster and consolidate long term SSP partnerships

Skills and Qualifications:

• Competent with working on electrically supplied hardware.

• Experience on wireless based systems advantageous.

• Experiences with RF Nets and LANs also advantageous.

• Full UK driving license.

• CSCS card.
