Internal Sales Engineer

Salary: £22,000 - £30,000 - Depending on Experience

Location: Park Royal, West London.

Our client is an SME that punches well above its weight solving sliding wear problems for the Engineering Industries. Its customer base embraces a wide range of companies manufacturing, operating or servicing heavy engineering plant. These include mining, steelmaking, marine and petrochem sectors of Industry. Operating a foundry and ultra-modern finish machine shop, the company has the flexibility to manufacture items weighing a few grams to tonnes and takes pride in offering a rapid response to its customer’s problems - a recent comment:

The Internal Sales Engineer Role

The successful candidate will need to appreciate customer’s sliding wear requirements. Enquiries are received by telephone, fax, e-mail and post. Establish the appropriate material to satisfy the particular engineering demands. Having established the material, ascertain costs and production timescale and make an offer to the company.

Turn enquiries into orders and process orders to initiate manufacture. Liaise with colleagues to monitor progress and inform customers of progress and develop a rapport.

The ideal Internal Sales Engineer candidate must have:

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification will be an advantage
  • A sound engineering background
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to work in a small team


  • 20 days annual holiday
  • Period between Christmas & New Year off
