In this role you will be responsible and Accountable to the Global Head of SAM and the regional ISM Head for software asset management within a DSC region.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Work with stakeholders to advise the relevant project, infrastructure and application stakeholders on software licensing and compliance - execute.
Maintain expert level knowledge for high risk DSC software contracts concerning licensing practices, and trends - up to 3 complicated vendors (strategic or key suppliers).
Advise IT stakeholders on options and actions to maximize the potential of the contractual arrangements for up to 3 complicated vendors (strategic or key suppliers).
For DSC specific vendors: Responsible to coordinate all vendor specific activities related to software lifecycle management between DSC stakeholders and the vendor (DSC SAM SPoC).
Responsible to maintain and utilize software assets for specific vendors - for up to 3 vendors (2 strategic, 1 key vendor).
Investigate and resolve exceptions and accuracy issues in SmartTrack.
Understand and improve inter-country workflows involved in the demand bundling, procurement, implementation, maintenance and disposal of software license.
Operate a chargeback methodology that makes re-use licenses at the DSC level possible and profitable
Monitors, report and drive improvement initiatives in adherence to software license usage to minimize audit risks.
Participate on cross-regional and cross-BU advisory committees to address software licensing and audit issues.
Consult other IT departments in DSC to address implementation of new or modified software licensing models.
Perform self-assessments across countries/regions to ensure all strategies and processes are being executed as designed.
Responsible to implement and verify controls that software assets are recorded and managed properly in the related SAM tools.
Provides standardized reporting; compile SmartTrack data into pre-defined report on a monthly and quarterly basis for DSC wide usage.
Derive, assign and deliver compliance improvement recommendations based on report and other analysis conducted.
Utilizes the regional ISM organization, processes and tools to ensure that all hardware and software is adequately tracked throughout its lifecycle.
Develop and presents proposals for changes where appropriate to senior management e.g. clean-up processes.
Research industry best practices and compare against the organization's practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing IT software assets.
Identify and help institute cost savings and mitigate risk to the organization from ongoing software maintenance and license optimization.
Develop and maintain business relationships with Procurement, Legal, Finance, other IT functions and CoEs. Provide "procurement support" to the IT teams on new products, pricing, and roadmap updates.
Formulate and implement processes and tools for tracking and analysing technical and financial data of DSC software from requisition through retirement.
Work with regional leadership to determine appropriate prioritization, ensure the country LM teams are focusing on these priorities. Provide status updates to leadership with high degree of accuracy and frequency.
Work with global leadership to determine appropriate prioritization.
Communicate through bulletins, newsletters, email, individual 1-2-1, group meetings, to IT teams, end users, IT management, developers, and vendors.

Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Knowledge on Information Technology and IT operating processes
Other technologies and tools, including: Active Directory, other Directory Services, software distribution tools (Altiris, SCCM)
Ability to coordinate across organizational and cultural boundaries
Proven ability to work effectively in a virtual team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance
country or regional IT management role on previous jobs
SAM certification required (e.g. Certified Software Management Professional through IBSMA, SIIA, IAITAM, or BSA)
Use of LM tools, software discovery tools (e.g., SmartTrack, Altiris, Qualis)
Use of IT asset inventory systems (e.g., GSN or similar)
Developing RFP documentation, reviewing proposals and participating in vendor presentations.
Deep knowledge of ISO 19770-1 and ITIL SAM Standards
Knowledge on Information Technology and IT operating processes - required
Country or regional management role on previous jobs
Min Master Degree
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
English, German, other languages is a plus
