A Database Administrator job-based in Cambridge for a modern and fast growing organisation.

The Company My clients have been leading the way on Payment Platform technology for nearly 20 years, within this time they have grown organically and have begun to work with clients across the globe including. Within the past 12 months, they have seen a huge increase in users across Europe with figures increasing by 114%. Due to company growth and operational needs my clients are looking for an experienced DBA to join their team on a full time and permanent bases.

The Role You will work closely with the Operations and Development teams supporting and maintaining the internal database to ensure functionality and performance is at its best at all times. You will also be required to be a key member of any Database projects. You will carry out usual activities such as backup and validation as well as troubleshooting queries. You will also be required to maintain the database's performance by identifying and resolving problems than feeding back into the development triage process, part of this role will involve mentoring members of the 2nd line support teams. You must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including load and performance testing, replication, ETL and log shipping. You must also have prior experience with supplying SAN Storage & data storage technology and distribution. A good knowledge of data security and protection is also required for this role along with the ability to work well towards deadlines and excellent attention to detail. In addition to this, an experience of different database technologies and cloud-based data solutions would also be beneficial.
