Job Title: Financial Planning Accountant

Location: Bath, with parking

Job ref: VLL/18257

Duration: 5-6 month contract (available to start from April)

Salary: £37-45,000 (pro rata) plus a completion bonus.

Purpose of the role:

To work closely with the Financial Planning Manager to assist the process and deliver the budget for the group. Working closely with the Head of Operations and Business Support Managers to deliver a Budget that is agreed with the FD and CEO, and that meets the expectations of the bank and shareholders.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with great communication skills that can be the face of the budget process this year.

Personality is key for this role - being able to provide finance training to 'non finance’ and be the key contact point throughout the budget process.

Specific duties to include:

With the Financial Planning Manager and Head of Operations assist in the Group Budget process including:

Populating and building / refreshing models,

Delivering training for new acquisitions in how to use the budget templates - via on-line training and group sessions. Will need to be available to travel in May to run the group training sessions (once or twice a week in May only).

Ensuring models reconcile to reported group actuals, and updated during the process as new actuals are delivered.

Ensuring all consolidation reports and overview documents are available before the process commences and available at every review point by the Financial Planning Manager.

Multiple detailed review and challenge of the Budgets submitted.

First contact point with any queries, guidance required.

Project work as allocated by the Financial Planning Manager.

Skills and experience required:

Strong academically - educated to degree level and having completed their professional accounting qualification (CIMA or similar)

Must have strong communication skills and be able to provide training to non-finance people as well as building up relationships.

Must have previous experience in budgeting.

Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment - flexibility is key

Excellent IT skills including advanced excel, and confident on various management reporting systems

Strong attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly without getting lost in the detail.

Deadline focussed, and willing to put in the effort required to ensure they always meet them
