An 'Outstanding' School in Hampton is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants. The school is a special school for pupils aged 4-11 with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs (including Autism). There are places for 118 young people, usually in classes of around 12. Teaching Personnel is looking to appoint a motivated and organised Teaching Assistant to join our caring and friendly team working with pupils aged 11 to 16.

You will be expected to develop strong and positive relationships with staff and pupils. As a teaching assistant you will be supporting the pupils to enhance learning and encourage them to become independent learners as well as providing educational, welfare and therapeutic support for pupils with a range for learning needs.

To be successful you will need to be:

  • Able to travel to Hampton daily
  • Able to work Monday - Friday 8:30 am - to 4:00pm during school term time
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Experienced supporting children with autism and learning difficulties
  • Able to support children with Maths, English and core subjects
  • 3DHOpen to personal care
  • Knowledgeable of specific visual aids such as PECS, TEACCH

TEACCHWe are looking for staff with good communication skills, ability to work on their own initiative and previous experience of working with pupils with learning needs. A valid DBS DBSwith Child Only Workforce registered onto the update service is required in order to secure this job.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
