We are recruiting for a Personal Tax Adviser to join a well-established, dynamic accountancy practice at its office in Oxford. Reporting to the Personal Tax manager, this role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of 150 to 250 personal tax clients, therefore, portfolio management skills are essential.

As Personal Tax Adviser, your key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Managing client portfolio
  • Tax return and P11D personal tax compliance
  • Billing and finances of personal tax clients
  • Business development and networking
  • Training, studying and continuing professional development
  • Client, contact and internal advisory work
  • Process management

This position requires a self-motivated individual who has previous experience in a similar role, gained within a practice environment and you will ideally be ATT or CTA qualified with personal and business tax experience.

To be a serious contender for this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Preferably ATT or CTA qualified, or willing to work towards the qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience working within a personal tax, practice environment
  • English and Maths GCSE level or equivalent
  • Intermediate IT skills including Outlook, Excel and Word and experience of personal tax software e.g. CCH, Protax, IRIS
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service focus (internal and external customers)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Takes personal pride in getting things right first time & strong attention to detail
  • Reliably juggles different priorities, producing excellent work under tight timeframes
  • Projects at all times, a confident, assertive, positive, 'can do’ and professional manner
  • Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
  • Judgement and the ability to make good decisions and able to take initiative
  • A strong team player - able to work with a variety of people and stakeholders
  • Takes on board review comments and applies them to continuing personal and professional development
