Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Chelmsford or Dunmow
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 25 per week
Salary: £14,532 actual per annum

About the role:

This service provides dementia support within the Memory Assessment Service and develop community resilience in Mid Essex to people affected by dementia and also those worried about their memory.

Working across the Memory Assessment service, GP surgeries and community venues, the post holder will raise awareness of dementia to identify the needs of people pre-diagnosis and then provide support for people to obtain a diagnosis and signpost and refer to relevant services.

About you:

We are looking for an individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers.

Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel independently. The office base to be agreed and you will work across Mid Essex
