HomeServe have a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled, results driven IT Category Manager to join our established Procurement team at our office in Walsall. The successful candidate will develop and manage a defined portfolio of spend, overseeing all procurement within remit, whilst ensuring regulatory objectives are met. He/She will lead and act as the primary commercial representative within cross functional teams, pursuant to delivering challenging targets, savings, efficiency, best total cost and minimised risk. The role will make a significant contribution to establishing the team as the credible commercial experts of choice, to business leaders and primary functional stakeholders, in addition to;

Initiating and leading projects to identify significant opportunities to reduce costs, reduce operational and commercial risks and increase value.
Representing Procurement within the businesses, engendering trust and confidence with business leaders
Managing risks linked to purchasing activity by promoting compliance with agreed group policies, legal requirements, and by engendering professional ethics.
Ensuring appropriate vendor management is structured, to consistently improve defined performance criteria, in conjunction with business stakeholders.
Ensuring all areas within remit comply with all legal and statutory requirements applicable, including but not exclusively FCA legislation, data protection, health and safety and corporate governance.
Ensuring all staff within remit have the requisite skills, experience, qualifications, knowledge and competence to perform the roles assigned to them
Managing all aspects of procurement within remit with due skill, care and diligence including effective controls, risk management and mitigation and delegation of activity to appropriate skilled and competent persons

The role will provide Homeserve with specific expertise in the following areas;

Market and Needs Analysis
Sourcing Strategy
Tender preparation and analysis
Negotiation
Functional process and procedure optimization ( e.g. e-procurement solutions)
Contracting
Continuous Improvement and Supplier Relationship Management

Knowledge & Experience;

Proven experience within IT Procurement
Experience of managing large value/complex procurement tenders.
MCIPS
Change management
Project management
