Senior Practice Accountant
Working for a local friendly practice in Kingswood Bristol, you will be able to prepare the more difficult accounts and give a final review of simpler accounts, the role is client facing. Also, will manage the practice work flow allocating work cost effectively to staff.
The majority of work is for small business to 1m turnover. The practice has been operating for 6 years and has established client base.
You will be client facing and take on a portfolio of new and existing clients to manage.
The role includes the following duties and therefore you are required to have technical experience in:
Reviewing & preparing of Self-Assessment Tax Returns and accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
Reviewing & preparing Ltd Company management accounts, year-end accounts and Corporation Tax Returns.
Reviewing & preparing VAT Returns along with Online Submission.
Assisting and training other members of staff.
Internal practice management. Review of current clients. Organise systems to manage workflow cost effectively.
Any new training will be provided in learning the practice software, however, experience with accounting and tax software such as TaxCalc and Quickbooks Online will be an advantage.
You will have proven accounts and taxation experience and will have worked in practice for a number of years. You must have relevant and recent small practice experience and be used to working on your own initiative. Ideally, you will be qualified or studying towards ACCA/ACA.
You must have a good working knowledge of accounts preparation and computations of taxes with the ability to hit the ground running and assist with preparing and reviewing tasks. As a successful candidate you will also have:

You will also have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and strong business acumen. Your tax knowledge must be up to date and you will need good IT skills.
You must have good people skills, be highly organised and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines. You must have a good command of the English language (both spoken and written) as the job involves writing of technical emails to clients.
The role is part time 3 days aweek 9am - 5pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
Full time may be an option for the right candidate.
Salary £30,000 pro rata plus 5% performance related bonus.
