Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide the highest standard of education. Each day you will be involved in the planning and delivering of exciting lessons, from core subjects to topic subjects. You will work with small groups of both advanced and struggling pupils, facilitating phonics and maths lessons. When required you will support independent children with specific tasks. Each day you will be responsible for getting the classroom ready and support the teacher by preparing educational resources.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have recent and relevant classroom based experience, which you can back up with examples. You will be used to taking small groups of children to work on core subjects with them. You will be very organised with brilliant communication skills and able to build strong relationships with children, staff and parents alike. You will have expert knowledge of the National Curriculum, strong Maths, English and IT skills, all of which you will be able to implement in a classroom setting. Crucially you will have strong behavioural management skills and be able to stop behaviour escalating with ease.
