Our client is one of the fastest growing medical recruitment companies in the UK. The company works closely with the NHS helping them to recruit Doctors on fixed term and permanent contracts.
They are currently looking to provide additional support to our team in London by recruiting an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, hands-on Financial Controller who can provide the appropriate financial guidance and disciplines as the company continues to grow. Your primary responsibility will be for the financial side of the business but, as a senior employee, you should also expect to become actively involved in many other aspects of the organisation.

Job Purpose:

All aspects of financial management and reporting to provide control and awareness of all financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:
• Developing systems, processes and metrics to help support the business as it evolves and grows
• Monitoring and reporting revenue on a weekly, monthly and YTD basis
• Monitoring monthly costs against budget
• Managing the annual budgeting process and flexing as necessary
• Monthly Management Accounts
• Assist with day to day operations
• Regular reporting including board packs and presentation
• KPI’s – daily, weekly, monthly by each employee related to sales and BD including India etc
• KPI’s relating to doctors recruited / required / NHS Trust / hospitals and conversion rates
• Cash-flow management
• Treasury management
• Invoicing and Credit control – invoices out and chasing hospitals & trusts
• Insurances
• Expenses and payroll information (including calculating commission and bonus payments)
• VAT returns
• Bank accounts
• Providing full working papers and supporting schedules to external accountants / auditors for annual financial accounts preparation
• Coordinating with the out-sourced IT services in respect of all operational, support and contractual matters
• Involvement in certain supplier relationships such as the ongoing provision of insurance, banking and telecoms

• Able to work independently and proactively, managing your own time and responsibilities
• The confidence and competence to steadily introduce improved processes, procedures
• And controls that are well suited to the growing business
• Results orientated and commercially focused
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

• Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA
• Education: 2:1 or better
• Experience using cloud accounting software (Currently using Xero)
• Good IT Skills and advanced level of excel
• Previous experience ideally in a fast paced start up business and experienced in growth
• Successful candidate to grow with the business and into Finance Director
