Accounts Associate (Billing) required to join a fast growing, specialist shipping business, based in Egham, Surrey. This is excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy, hands on role. The Accounts Associate (Billing) is an important position in the company, as the person is responsible for invoicing the company's prestigious clients, in an accurate and timely manner.

My client is extremely open minded as to the type of person who could fill this role - it may be someone early in their finance career who wants to study, or it may be someone who already has a lot of experience in just this type of position. What matters most, is that he or she are keen to play their part, in a business that is thriving, through providing its customers with excellent service. The Accounts Associate (Billing) will be responsible for the creation, distribution and conversion of invoices, to ensure that the business has constant and consistent collection of cash to maintain its cash-flow.

Principle Accountabilities of the Accounts Associate (Billing)

  • Billing of clients based on service and inventory files and interacting with the client managers to ensure these are accurate and issued on a timely basis
  • Management of supplier invoices and disbursements to ensure these are in line with budgeted values and querying suppliers directly when these are incorrect
  • Disbursement of monies to suppliers to ensure the company operates within its credit limits
  • Effective management of the company's cash position and daily reporting to the Finance and Operations Directors to ensure he is kept up to date with this information
  • Periodically assessing the accounts operations to ensure these are as streamlined and efficient as possible, suggesting improvements where necessary
  • Management of the company's Quickbooks platform to ensure it accurately reflects the businesses accounting position at all times
  • Management and querying of expense transactions to ensure these are in line with the company's policy

Skills, Qualifications and Behaviours of the Accounts Associate (Billing)

  • Previous experience within an accounts department
  • Previous experience with the Quickbooks platform would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience within the freight or white glove shipping industry a plus
  • Strong academic ability evidenced by strong educational results
  • Competent numerical skills through education or experience
  • Good time and oversight management to ensure billing and payments as actioned on a timely basis
  • High numerical accuracy to ensure billing is on time and correct
  • Ability to analyse processes and suggest improvements to enhance the company's operational efficiency
  • Good multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with the client managers and the Finance and Operational Director
