The LCJ Group are recruiting for a motivated and experienced Behaviour Mentor for an amazing SEN School based in Croydon.
To start in September.
This is an all boys school for 11-16 year olds with SEMH needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB HOLDER:
To contribute to the development and improvement of school life for all pupils through effective support of teaching, learning and assessment.
Your job as a behaviour mentor will include:
Support the school delivering behaviour & nurturing interventions for students.
Establish and develop a student behaviour & nurturing base within the school and manage the supervision of students within that base.
Provide pastoral support and guidance to students within the base and assist in their behavioural, emotional & social development.
Take a lead role, in conjunction with teaching staff, with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for Behaviour (IEPBs) for students.
Establish productive working relationships with students in the base; acting as a role model.
Arrange and develop 1:1 and small group mentoring arrangements and provide support for students within the base.
Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to learner responses/needs.

Hold a Team Teach qualification or equivalent
Have good experience in a similar role
Have a Grade C or above in English and Maths
Have excellent communication skills
Experience working in a school environment
Be flexible and adaptable
Be a good team player
Have competent IT skills
Have the ability to motivate colleagues and learners through a positive and professional attitude
Have an understanding of national developments in the area of SEN
Interview day to be held with SLT/board of Governors w/c 4th June.
Start Date: September 2018
Salary Range: £21000-£25000.
