Finance Assistant - 1 year Fixed Term Contract ( Possibly Permanent Opportunity)

This is a great opportunity to work for an exciting FMCG Company based in Putney, in beautiful offices are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team on a 1 year fixed term basis (Potentially could go permanent)

As Finance Assistant you will be responsible for running the purchase and sales ledger work in a timely and accurate manner.

Salary £28sk together with Excellent benefits such as 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays,

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 9am - 5.30pm and Friday 9am - 5pm.

Job Responsibilities Finance Assistant

  • Efficient running of Purchase and Sales Ledger including:
  • Accurate and timely transaction processing
  • Keeping accurate and up to date records of financial documents for audit purposes
  • Credit control - customers debt received within payment terms
  • Ensure sales/purchase/customer ledgers are complete, up to date and reconciled
  • Credit control duties as required including check of outstanding credit notes
  • Manage debtor ledgers, ensuring customers pay effectively and on time
  • Answer any customer queries by telephone and email
  • Send weekly statements to customers
  • Daily invoice posting
  • Sales deduction processing and allocation
  • Ensure invoices are sent through the approval process
  • Ensure all invoices are filed correctly and assist in invoice queries
  • Ensuring all approved invoices are paid to invoice terms
  • Match POs to the invoices and edit variances if necessarily
  • Assisting in internal and external audits
  • Provide cover for other sales and purchase function when required
  • Other ad hoc duties as directed by Line Manager

Person Specification for Finance Assistant:

  • ERP system experience, e.g. SAP, Navision, Dynamics (essential)
  • Experience of working with day-to-day financial systems and processes (essential)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (essential)
  • Experience of working for an FMCG organisation (desirable)
  • Qualification in Accounting (desirable)
  • German or French (desirable)

  • Eye for detail
  • Calm under pressure
