BORN, the world's first market network for design products is looking for a passionate, motivated, results-driven Event Manager to manage the planning and execution of the Land Rover BORN Awards.

The Land Rover BORN Awards, now in its 8th year, celebrates the creation of compelling products that can enrich people’s lives. This year’s theme is ‘Peerless’. Judges will be looking for products that demonstrate unrivalled, incomparable design. Entry is open until February 2018, welcoming new talent and established creators alike.

This individual's role will be to deliver the Land Rover BORN awards 2018 on time and within budget and scope. The ideal person will thrive when planning projects and working with project teams and are skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that they oversee.

Salary: £30k + £5k bonus

Responsibilities

  • Following every aspects of the scope of work to be delivered for an International competition
  • Managing communication plan and working with competition PR agencies to deliver this
  • Managing content creation plan with video makers for the event
  • Managing all competition stakeholders from jury members to nominees and winners
  • Managing reporting to sponsors (e.g. Land Rover)
  • Ensure that the 2018 Land Rover BORN awards is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

Skills and Experience:

  • Native English speaker
  • Previous project management experience
  • Previous event management experience is preferable but not essential
  • Previous experience working with event or company sponsors is preferable but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Results driven, ROI focused
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Strong understanding of brand and the company values - this person will represent the BORN awards
  • Understanding of how to handle a public relations crisis
  • Comfortable working with all levels of stakeholders with the same degree of professionalism
  • Excellent decision-making abilities
