5 Learning Support Assistant Needed For Primary School In Croydon

As a Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for working with young people, in particular those who may have received all manner of set-backs in and outside of education. You will provide support to the class teacher within the secondary or primary school.

Role:

You will be working in an excellent school in south London alongside a strong, highly committed and caring team in a professional and bright mainstream school. Classroom responsibilities include supporting children through classroom activities, preparing activities, encouraging children's confidence, self-esteem and confidence in a school environment, as you will be working with children from different backgrounds.

The Early Years department are looking for two 1-1 support staff who will be working directly with a child with Autism and another pupil with learning difficulties. You will be supported by two very experienced EYFS teachers which will allow you to learn and develop your skills.

As a Teaching assistant you will be a key link between teachers and students across the school. You will be supporting students of all abilities allowing them to progress and strive to achieve. The role would suit a passionate and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in supporting young people with SEN. It will be an advantage if you have a degree, but specifically a degree in Education or Psychology but not essential.

Essentials:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant degree is desired or experienced TA.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour issues.
  • Have valid DBS or be willing to get one.
