The company has tripled its turnover in the last two years, with plans to double turnover again this year. The team possess experience in advertising, marketing, IT and technical consulting. This role requires an individual with an entrepreneurial mind-set and proven sales skills. You take action, are resourceful, retain focus and are able to listen and communicate effectively.
A BDM works to improve an organisation’s market position by growing both the number of clients and the budget of each client. Your job will focus principally on searching for new prospects (from warm leads, contacts and your own research) to introduce your services and book a meeting. You’ll attend those meetings with one of the company directors with the aim of earning the right to make a presentation for new business. From sourcing to calling, and meeting to closing new business, you’ll be involved in all steps of the sales process. In addition, you will also take care of the ongoing relationships with these new clients - the more you win, the more you take care of!
Involvement in the whole sales process gives your working week great variety: research, phone calls, meetings, presentations and client management - you’re rarely have the same day twice!
As a prospective Business Development Manager for our client, you will already know the retail market and, in particular, its buying processes. Perhaps you’ve worked as a retail buyer or maybe you’ve sold into retail before. Alternatively, you may work in a creative agency, selling branding or marketing services into retail clients.
As a proven sales professional with a least 2 years’ experience, you will be confident in developing contacts, motivating leads and closing sales. You must have a real passion for sales and for remarkable service to clients as well as an infectious enthusiasm for both work and life. No moaners welcome here!
