Payroll and Accounts Assistant
We are proud to be a leading independent UK consultancy at the forefront of risk, pensions, investment and insurance and have recently reached just over 1000 employees spread over 8 offices. Our growth has been significant since our creation in 1989 and we aim to continue this growth by recruiting people who share in Barnett Waddingham’s values.
Pensions Administrators are responsible for the day-to-day administration of pension schemes. They make sure that new and existing customers' policies are accurately maintained and serviced and this includes administering the pensioner payroll.
About the role
The postholder will be running, checking and arranging authorisation of the pension payrolls as well as coordinating, processing and checking BACS payments and reports. There is also liaison with HMRC and dealing with any payroll-related enquiries.
In terms of the banking responsibilities, these will include the daily processing and allocation of pool account statement transactions, account reconciliations and transmission of pooled account payments to the bank.
About the Person
You will have some accounts and payroll experience already and as this is a busy role, you'll need to be the sort of person who works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines. Working as part of a team, you'll be a strong team-player who is happy to roll your sleeves up.
We're also looking for great communication skills as you'll be liaising with internal and external stakeholders and members.
Finally, you'll need GSCE Maths and English at Grade C / 4 or above and if your payroll and accounts experience has been within financial services that would be ideal but it is certainly not essential.
What We Offer
We have a very competitive benefits package, which includes a discretionary annual bonus and a non-contributory pension.
