At Select Norwich, we are currently recruiting for an Area Management Officer on behalf of our client based in Norwich.

This is a temporary role lasting 6 months. The successful candidate will build relationships with residents, tenants, partners and contractors, with a goal to deliver positive outcomes.

The Role:

  • Problem solving of neighbourhood issues, working with other parties (both internal and external) to resolve issues and improve the neighbourhood
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external parties, giving practical assistance to projects
  • Seek to change poor behaviour in the public through education, advice and taking enforcement action using range of powers available
  • Inspect work carried out by contractors and partners; follow up action as necessary
  • Case work investigating incidents and complaints of environmental crime, statutory nuisance and anti-social behaviour
  • Educational and environmental activities (i.e. with schools and community groups
  • Provide responses to enquiries and complaints relating to services, policies and strategies
  • Work flexible hours as needed

Experience and Skills Required:

  • IT Literate
  • Experience in a customer facing community safety, environmental protection or neighbourhood development related work environment
  • Experience contributing to successful projects
  • Working knowledge of anti-social behaviour, statutory nuisances, environmental protection powers (i.e. Environmental Protection Act 1990, Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, and other primary legislation regarding environmental crime and anti-social behaviour)
  • Understanding of tenancy, contractual, legal and policy frameworks
