English as an Additional Language EAL Support Knowsley
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
We are looking to appoint experienced and enthusiastic teachers of EAL (English as an Additional Language) to deliver language support to children and young people in the Knowsley area. We would welcome applications from teachers and support staff with a background in education, and those with experience in SEND; although this is not essential.
We are looking for educators with a good understanding of written and spoken English grammar and a good grasp of numbers to support a wide range of students to achieve their academic potential. You will play a crucial role in introducing children with additional language needs into the school environment and building upon relationships with others that will have a lasting impact beyond primary education.
Recognising prior skills and experiences of learners and accounting for these in the learning process will be common practice as the role will include: planning, preparing and delivering discrete language development programmes, in addition to maintaining all the documentation for allocated learners' files.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an awareness and understanding of EAL pedagogy by adopting a learner-centred approach throughout all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the ability to work with learners from multilingual/cultural backgrounds will be routine.
For an informal discussion, simply click 'apply' and we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss a registration. Alternatively, call the CER Liverpool Branch on for more information regarding how we can support your next career move.
Please note this is a rolling recruitment so there is no closing date.
