Purpose of the Job:

Manage the testing process across the implementation of a strategic technology solution such as ERP or CRM ensuring a robust and evidenced defect management procedure is in place. The role will also manage a team of test analysts to complete integrated testing and lead a client team through the UAT process. The role will require engagement with clients and project managers to ensure the are robustly tested to the agreed testing strategy.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the project manager, define the test strategy for a solution implementation, with an agreed defect management process, ensuring the test strategy is appropriate to the solution and client
  • Generate the detailed day to day test plan for each cycle of testing including integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Manage a team of test analysts to successfully deliver integrated testing, ensuring all test scripts are robust and test results are captured fully within the testing tools in place
  • Manage the costs of the testing process ensuring costs are managed and delivered within allocated budget
  • Manage the allocation of testing resources across multiple implementation projects if required
  • Promote a learning environment and provide insightful guidance to test analysts to support their growth and development
  • Work closely with the Project Managers and Account Managers to define and estimate the testing stages across a project implementation
  • Employ mature work estimation processes to enable projects to deliver to budget and delivery dates
  • Ensure defects resolution is managed within the project timelines, liaising with project managers and project leads as required
  • Generate regular reports across the testing cycle to ensure project managers, account managers and clients (where appropriate) are informed on the status of the testing cycles
  • Generate testing completion reports at the closure of each testing cycle for both internal and client audiences
  • Conduct risk assessments and risk management of the testing process
  • Provide quality assurance across the testing process
  • Keep well informed of industry best practices and advances and share new knowledge to improve processes, technology, and results
  • Ensure all testing work is fully documented with accompanying client user guides and support documentation

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a test manager role, with proven experience of managing test analysts

Technical Skills:

  • Good broad technical understanding of ICT landscape
  • Experience in managing testing across either ERP or CRM implementation programmes
  • Minimum of 2 years test management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years testing experience
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience of using Zephyr and Jira project and issue tracking software or similar tools
  • Experienced in building test teams for projects
