To work within Children and Young Peoples Services to support class teachers and school managers in the provision of effective teaching and learning for all pupils in the primary sector, in particular those who experience barriers to learning.Essential
A degree or diploma in primary education or PGCE/PGDE along with evidence of continued personal professional development
General Teaching Council Scotland registration
Sound understanding of Additional Support for Learning legislation
Understanding of, and commitment to the principles of entitlement, inclusion and partnerships as key principles of Additional Support for Learning.
Interest in, and understanding of, how children learn.
Ability to support, motivate and encourage all pupils, in particular those who experience barriers to learning.
Evidence of effective teaching practice, demonstrating good classroom management skills and a positive rapport with pupils.
