An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual with well-developed technical finance skills and excellent communication skills to join our centralised finance team.

Coombe Academy Trust is an innovative and forward thinking multi-academy trust (MAT) continually providing standards of excellence in teaching & learning to give all of our pupils a positive learning experience. This is an exciting time for the finance department as we prepare for another primary school joining the MAT and the implementation of a new finance system, both due to take place in September. This role will be pivotal in helping to mould the finance department so that we remain fit for purpose as we continue to grow as an organisation. The role will provide essential support to the Director of Finance in the financial planning and financial management of the Trust. Key duties will include assisting with all schools’ annual and three year budget plans, overseeing the month end processes, producing monthly budget and cash forecasts, producing termly management reports with variance analysis for Trustees and preparing the Trust’s VAT return.

You will be a part qualified (CCAB) accountant with an eye for detail and accuracy, but with the ability to keep sight of the broader picture. You will be committed to continuous improvement, possess good analytical skills, be proficient in Excel to an advanced level and have experience of managing a small team.
