Engineering Apprentice - Dudley
The role involves full training, mentoring and support in a variety of engineering / administration tasks along with working on the shop floor which will include training on welding, fabricating and using lathes. This is predominantly an office based role however you will require a technical knowledge and understanding in engineering.
Duties and responsibilities include:1.Training offered on using milling machines, welding and fabrication 2.Assisting with planning job timescales and creating and issuing job cards to engineers3.Ordering stock, reading drawings and working to instructions for engineering materials along with CAD 4.Preparing and submitting quotations 5.Order processing and managing progress 6.Producing reports7.General office administration dutiesThe TrainingThe training will take place in our academy in Dudley where you will be required to attend a 6 week programme prior to starting the apprenticeship and you will spend 2 days per week gaining your Level 1 Certificate in Engineering. On successful completion of this, you will move onto your apprenticeship where 1 day a week will be spent in classroom/workshop based learning to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology and 4 days with your employer.
