An opportunity to join a fast growing and game-changing fibre provider as an Automation Test Engineer. Based in Oxfordshire and currently employing over 200 people, the company are a builder, operator and provider of pure fibre broadband services to consumers and businesses and a major player in the fibre infrastructure landscape in this country. The Automation Tester will be joining a growing development team, reporting to the Test Team Lead, they will play a vital role in improving the quality of software produced by the Development team. Working closely with developers, the Automation Tester will ensure the delivery of high quality, fit-for-purpose software.

The Role:
  • Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with a goal of increasing automation.
  • Responsible for writing automated tests.
  • Work with developers, Product Owner and (where appropriate) business stakeholders to validate Acceptance Criteria.
  • Work closely with developers to test as we code
  • Be meticulous about documentation and maintain a robust log of all test cases and test results.
  • Clear communication with the rest of the team.
  • Clearly report on the quality of each release.

  • Experience and Education:
  • Degree level of education or equivalent.
  • ISTQB qualifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of hands-on testing.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Automation testing.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments.
  • Experience of API testing.
  • Wide experience of different automation tools, strategies and processes.
  • Designing and writing automation scripts.
  • Working in Agile, CI environment.
  • Assess the impact of proposed changes.
