As a product developer with experience in technical product development you will use your mechanical / materials or design background to help to deliver new consumable functionality, novel materials & new consumable configurations for Innovative products with reference to how designs are suitable for manufacture an scale up.

The role is responsible for the delivery of an assigned portfolio of projects and activities within the product development plan which requires the coordination of internal and external stakeholders in support of product development to support delivery of the commercial vision for the product are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

    Lead on the assigned product development and assessment activities (New Products or Product Modifications, new tools/capabilities.) based on an agreed plan to include consumer preferences, NPI strategy, and regulatory compliance requirementsPromote and integrate ways of working within the development teamWork closely with the Principal Product Development Manager and Senior Product Developers to implement and plan the development strategy of future NPI generations
    Lead the development and assessment activities for the assigned responsibilities within the teamWork with technical teams to understand and characterise product performance with the assigned responsibilities within the team to improve the accuracy and quality of the developments within their assigned portfolioSupport the Principal Product Development Manager, Senior Product Developers and Product Developer I where requiredProvide assistance to NPI – Quality team and R&D Deployment team on issues requiring resolution
    Ensure on time and in full delivery of study plans for assessment of new products and/or product modifications
Essential requirements

    Degree or equivalent in engineering (mechanical / deign), manufacturing, science or related subjectRecognised proficiency in some scientific/engineering development processes. e.g. experimental design, Finite Element Analysis, Design for Manufacture & Assembly, Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA)Detailed knowledge and experience of physical and/or analytical measurement techniquesContemporary knowledge of product development techniques – desired but not essentialAbility to adapt processes to deliver innovative products whilst considering the implications of scale up.Ability to adapt fast and self-develop
