Desktop Support Analyst (Financial Services) - London

Purpose of role:

A leading organisation would like to recruit a Desktop Support Analyst for our Global Desktop Service team based in London. Our office is based in walking distance from Bank, Liverpool Street and London Bridge stations.

The candidate will be expected to resolve trading desktop issues, supporting 3rd party applications and provide first line support for our in-house trading applications…

Specific Responsibilities:

The specific responsibilities of the role include:

  • Troubleshooting and management of issues with the Windows, Mac, VDI and mobile estate;
  • Installation and configuration of desktop and mobile devices;
  • 2nd level support on Microsoft operating system and Office applications;
  • Software deployments using Microsoft SCCM;
  • Floor walking, desk visits and remote support expected
  • Proven Incident and Problem management

Essential Knowledge / Technical Experience:

  • Seasoned individual who has worked in a similar position in a financial services organisation with a strong skill set in supporting applications and environments;
  • Microsoft applications - including SCCM;
  • Remote assistance tools;
  • Advanced troubleshooting of the Windows desktop:
    • Deep event viewer analysis; PerfMon; WinDBG; SCCM log files.
  • Strong technical grasp of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange and SQL Server;
  • Experience of Networks and Security;
  • Scripting skills e.g. VBScript or PowerShell.
  • Experience working with desktop and laptop hardware
  • Supporting Apple, Android and Blackberry handsets in a MDM environment

Desirable Knowledge / Technical Experience:

  • Knowledge of the ITIL management framework
  • Knowledge of thin client infrastructure
  • Exposure on a Trade Floor
  • Deploying and supporting Apple Mac devices
  • Experience working with market data applications (Bloomberg/Reuters), including troubleshooting Excel add-ins
