Our prestigious Automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to work within our Clients ever expanding Electrical Engineering department on a full time basis.
This is a brilliant opportunity for the chosen candidate to work in a very modern and luxurious working environment. The successful Systems Engineer will be working a 40 hour week with access to onsite parking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage software requirements, issues, change requests and oversee associated validation
  • Liaise with controls and software engineers, subsystem owners, and validation teams to ensure robust delivery of the software and system
  • Work with software module leader / project planner to track and report project status
  • Develop and maintain software documentation including specifications, sign-off reports, manufacturing and service documentation
  • Manage calibration data and concur calibration changes
  • Support software quality deliverables and reviews, and lead software issue investigations including manufacturing and warranty support where required
  • Key Skills Required for Submission:
  • Understanding of software requirements, V-development cycle
  • Automotive or technical Engineering background in related industry
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing or leading suppliers or outsourced projects
  • Skills Required:

  • Understanding of system engineering principles and the software development lifecycle
  • Software requirements authoring and decomposition to software units, and requirements and change management tools (IBM Rational DOORS, RTC or similar)
  • Knowledge of electrical architectures and protocols including CAN bus, Flexray, automotive diagnostics and related system development tools (CANalyzer, CANape, diagnostics tools etc.)
  • Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Skills Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, including DOIP and / or BroadR-Reach
  • Knowledge of fault detection and fault handling techniques
  • Understanding of safety critical systems including related standards such as ISO26262 / IEC61508 or similar
  • Software documentation and associated quality processes (ASPICE)
  • Experience Preferred:
  • Automotive specific experience preferred but could also be from other relevant backgrounds
  • Previous experience of software delivery
  • Experience of issue investigations including appropriate problem solving and reporting tools (5D, Is / Is Not, Fishbone etc), as well as quality and robustness tools (FMEA, FTA, P-Diagrams, Noise Factor Analysis etc)
  • Experience working with offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers
  • Previous experience of working within a cross functional team, including supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Additional Information:
  • Full valid UK driving license is required
  • Primarily located at Gaydon
  • Occasional travel to other sites may be required including overseas
  • Safety footwear will be required in workshop / manufacturing areas
