Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Slough
Company: Technology focussed subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company
Salary: Negotiable around £50,000

Your new role:
You will join a friendly and expert team of Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineers and help with embedded software specification, design, development and support for a portfolio of measurement applications. You will have a key role in selecting development tools as required, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

Ideally you have worked for an R&D business designing electronic industrial products ideally for sensing applications, but any relevant experience of developing embedded firmware (rather than application software) for electronic products would be great.

You will enjoy working in the following technical environment:

  • embedded software design, microprocessor design, Digital Signal Processing, low power design and design for production
  • Assembler, embedded C and C++
  • version management tools for controlling software development and production release during the product life cycle
  • electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, logic probes, etc.); interpreting electronic schematic diagrams within the digital domain.
  • Visual Studio (Visual Basic, C# or Visual C++) as well as Object Oriented Analysis and Design with UML notation, e.g. Visio, Enterprise Architect
  • integrated development environment compilers and linkers, such as IAR
