Global Engineering position to ensure global standards within the gas seal systems groups are aligned across all design centres. Responsible for supporting the progress of the API/AURA Panel through the NPD process and subsequent launch. Support operations and Quality in development manufacturing standards, inclusive of assembly and testing procedures. Provide support to field related issues and supporting in customer meetings, integrating lessons learnt and best practice into standard procedures and design philosophies..

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Senior Engineer, responsible for workload allocationCreating and Maintaining Product StandardsLiaise with local system engineering entities regarding global design philosophiesKeep up to date with industry standards and ensure JC understanding and compliance where necessaryCo-ordinate globally across the various design centres associated with Panel design and supplyResponsible for coordinating across all design centers, ensuring that one common methodology is adopted for all aspects of dry gas seal support systemsAble to create and work to a plan, delivering on time and to budgetEngineering authority for gas seal systems within Global EngineeringSuccessful implementation of the global product standard will allow sales group to aggressively grow the current market share of this product line.A new industry standard to be introduced in the coming 6months which will impact the supply chain of dry gas seal panels, the role is responsible for ensuring that JC is prepared and will support on various customer facing activities to ensure that John Crane is seen to be proactive in the market placeSupport Customer facing functions with technical support for field related issues.Globally visible role, with current high focus on the project and forms part of the business strategic growth planLiaise with Product Marketing and Management and other departments during the New Product Development processReport up to Management current progress and activitiesLiaise with other businesses under the SMITHS umbrella to utilize their product offeringsEstablish and maintain relationships with customers supporting on technical quires

Required Skills and Experience:

    Creation of P&ID and General Arrangement Drawings.Good understanding of compressible flowDetailed knowledge of controls and control systemsDetailed understanding of instrumentation and instrumentsEngineering backgroundExtensive Experience with CAD software such as Solid-edgeExperience with ChemCAD advantageousGas Analysis and phase behaviour of fluidsFamiliarity with MS OfficeAbility to communicate effectively cross culturallyAbility to work independently and drive team goalsAbility to conduct and lead meetings at a high levelAbility to motivate and get work and input from others outside of your reporting chainStrong written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively across different departments of the organizationAbility to project manage
