Contract Business Systems Analyst LIMS – Norfolk


Do you have quality control testing experience either as a Chemist or Microbiology in a manufacturing plant lab using a Lab Information Management System (LIMS)? Have you worked as part of a team to implement a LIMS system or other computer based systems in the laboratory environment? Want to work for a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company on a 7 months contract? Yes then this is the role for you.

Your role as a Business Systems Analyst LIMS will involve helping my client in implementing a new LIMS system globally replacing multiple existing electronic and paper processes with one harmonized global system. The scope of this role is to work closely with the plant lab SMEs to implement an automated laboratory testing platform for Raw Materials and Finished Good testing, based on a defined standard work process.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for strong knowledge of the standard deployment processes and demonstrate LIMS application efficiency.
  • You will be a LIMS functionality SME contact for multiple site plant lab personnel.
  • You will own individual site issues and action items on behalf of the global project team create communication messages for both written and oral for varied site situations.
  • Responsible for building repeatable standard work rollout templates / job aides which are clear, concise, and easy to understand by multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the project guidelines and principles to educate site SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and answer questions.
This is a 7 months contract role with a great salary paying £24 - £26 per hour which is negotiable for the right candidate.


To apply for the role of Business Systems Analyst LIMS you will have the following:

  • Experience in carrying out the above duties within the pharmaceutical or related scientific industry.
  • Experience with LIMS.
  • Demonstrate Business Analysis techniques to propose solutions for varied issues.
  • Demonstrate experience in a Chemistry and / or Micro testing lab executing test specifications with lab instrumentation.
  • Accountable for acquiring and then demonstrating solid laboratory business and LIMS knowledge. Possess knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle and implementation processes.
  • Ability to learn the concepts of lean principle standard work and apply continuous improvement to create one method of working and templates used across sites.
