Position: Stress Engineer
Location: Castle Donington, Derbyshire, DE74 2PY (Commutable from Derby, Long Eaton, Nottingham, Loughborough, Burton Upon Trent and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 38 hours per week, Mon-Fri with flexible start and finish times dependant on role
Salary: £Competitive

About the role:

The position of Stress Engineer is the person responsible for the creation of stress analysis with regard to structural integrity and generation of reports.


- Analysing integrity of designs for suitability against industry standards.
- Completion of analysis investigations into a full range of problems using classical calculations and analytical tools.
- Producing detailed Stress analysis reports to demonstrate compliance against standards
- Checking and approving design calculations of designers and other engineers within the team
- Supporting team members with basic calculations to ensure suitability of design
- Compliance with all applicable legal obligations for designs
- Creation of technical documentation to support CE Tooling
- Complying with all customer, company and all applicable standards
- Identifying design improvements based on analysis results

About you:

- Degree in a mechanical discipline
- A solid understanding of the fundamentals of mechanics and dynamics, structural integrity principles and failure modes
-Relevant Experience in hand calculations and FEA (Solidworks, MathCAD and NX 9 would be advantageous)
- Experience in producing a range of technical documentation including specifications, summary reports, scope of works, technical files, and assessment reports
- Self-disciplined with excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to prioritise tasks and deal with a number of queries simultaneously
- The ability to work accurately with an excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to travel regularly in UK and worldwide as required
- Valid driving licence and passport essential
