Our client is specialises in the manufacture of products for the construction market. With sites across the UK, this multi-million pound company are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well-established Engineering team.
Due to an internal promotion an exciting opportunity has arisen to join this global business. A number of key projects are currently To meet this demand the company have a number of continuous improvement and CAPEX projects both underway and planned. This includes an investment of £6 million on a brand new workshop and machine shop facility.
The site have also just invested in a new computerised PPM system, with the site working towards increasing OEE over the coming months.
The mechanical maintenance engineer will be responsible for all mechanical fault finding and rectification work on production systems on site. This would include stripping down, repairing and rebuilding components like drive chains, conveyors, pulleys, belts, sprockets, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics.
If a part is not readily available then the maintenance engineer would be expected to either machine or fabricate a new part from scratch in their equipped workshop.
The majority of the work will be focused on reactive maintenance. As such the maintenance engineer will need to have excellent fault finding skills and be able to prioritise work to meet demands.
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:
Must have previous experience working as a mechanical maintenance engineer.Must have a recognised mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND).

As part of your induction you would be partnered with one of the Senior Engineers who would be you mentor during your first few months of employment whilst you learn all aspects of the production process and affiliated maintenance tasks. Upon successful completion of your training you would be moved onto your normal shift.
Also, depending on the level of experience you have the company will also invest in you to upskill any gaps. Recently a number of engineers have acheived their HND.
