A well-known Manchester based company are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their established and well-performing project team. Taking responsibility for the management accounts for the company's projects, you will provide in-depth monthly reporting and analysis.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the production and distribution of monthly management accounts for the project team
  • Calculating prepayments and accruals
  • Delivering and maintaining information regarding fixed assets
  • Reconciling allocated balance sheets
  • Providing accurate and timely KPI and variance analysis
  • Posting journals
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Interpreting and communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Investigating and resolving project related issues - escalating where necessary
  • Taking responsibility for the management of some projects

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will have/be:

  • Previous experience working in a management accounts related role
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Fantastic analytical skills
  • A good ability to interpret and distil information
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Computer literate with a minimum of intermediate MS Excel capability
  • Experience working with a large ERP system - either Oracle or SAP
  • Currently studying a finance-related qualification e.g. CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or equivalent)
  • The ability to work effectively within a team, as well as being a strong independent worker
