We are looking for a talented and ambitious VAT Associate/VAT Assistant Accountant to join the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FA&R) team at the SPXFLOW Global Business Services Centre located in Didsbury, South Manchester. The FA&R team manages a range of controllership activities including executing the month end close processes in the ERP system (SAP) and consolidation system (Hyperion), preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and delivering external reporting commitments for VAT and Intrastat.
The VAT Associate/VAT Assistant Accountant role will help to ensure all VAT Returns, Intrastat & EC Sales lists are filed in an accurate & timely manner, making sure they are compliant with local laws & legislation.It will include reconciling and clearing down complex VAT and US sales tax accounts and having a full understanding of amounts remaining on the balance sheet. Alongside this it will support key global projects, in particular providing support for the Vertex global tax system. The VAT Associate/VAT Assistant Accountant role also provides key accounting support for the Financial Accountants and has responsibility for accurate and compliant journal preparation and posting in SAP, providing timely business unit reporting in Hyperion to strict month end deadlines and ensuring compliance of a wide range of balance sheet reconciliations. All of this is performed in a Sarbanes Oxley compliant environment, where upholding key process controls is an embedded part of the day to day operation.To succeed in this role you will have experience in the preparation and submission of VAT, Intrastat & EC Sales declarations. You will have experience of reconciling complex VAT accounts and have a full understanding of VAT amounts remaining on the balance sheet.You will have a continuous improvement mind-set and a passion for customer service. You will be IT savvy and have a good understanding of SAP or a similar ERP system and will be able to use your strong excel skills as a differentiator.
