Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and Certifications which form the Company’s integrated Business Management System (BMS). The Business Management System is central to our business of turnkey critical power solutions; Dynamic Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems, Diesel Generator Systems and associated balance of plant equipment.

Key tasks
Continually improve the business through the integrated Business Management system
Undertake auditing and site inspections to ensure compliance with BMS, H&S and ISO standards and lead or participate in failure investigations – verifying corrective actions are effective
Liaise with Service and New Project site teams to ensure highest H&S standards are maintained and safe systems of work
Liaise with the manufacturing facility in Belgium on Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality issues
Review/approve Risk Assessments relating to service/maintenance works and new project installations
Support or lead hazard identification exercises and oversee waste management program
Maintain ISO Certifications – ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001
Maintain SSIP, H&S certifications to CHAS, Safecontractor and SMAS
Ensure company compliance with relevant and up-to-date Environmental and Health & Safety legislation
Manage new sub-contractor/supplier approval and annual review process
Manage and control QHSE budget and costs
Communication and promote QHSE activity through reports, presentations and meetings and propose continual improvement initiatives
Organise/devise Environmental and H&S training/coaching programs and maintain training records
Assist with Tender Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
Travel within the UK, Ireland and when needed overseas.

Knowledge and skills
Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies
Chartered Member of Institute of Quality
Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health
Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment
5+ years’ experience within an Engineering Industry
Good Knowledge of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards
Qualified assessor of either quality or environmental management systems
Excellent impersonal skills at all levels, verbal and written communication, good presentation skills

NEBOSH Construction Health & Safety Certificate
Foundation Membership Examination Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment
Assessor of Quality Management Systems
A minimum of HNC or BTEC in an engineering discipline
NEBOSH environmental Awareness at Work
Site Managers Safety Training Scheme
