ANPR – Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology – has become an

essential tool for policing London. Used for crime investigations and counter

terrorism, it plays a crucial part in keeping the capital safe. To keep our systems in good working order, we need a dedicated ANPR Technician; a natural problem solver who’s got what it takes to provide the highest level of support.

As part of our respected and fast moving Technical Services Team, you’ll install ANPR systems around London and beyond.

You’ll also use all your technical knowledge to fix issues and maintain our systems, while offering expert advice on ANPR to contacts across the Met. With an HND, HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, you’ll be willing to learn about ANPR technology if you haven’t used it before. We’ll supply expert training, as long as you have some existing technical knowledge.

This should cover operating platforms including Windows and Linux, as well as IP-based systems and networking technologies such as firewalls, routers and switches. We’re also looking for initiative and evidence that you can work well as part of a team. However, it’s your drive to solve problems and meet new challenges that will really count. Please note that you’ll be part of the team’s on-call rota, so you may be required to work outside normal office hours. A full UK driving licence is essential.

To apply, please click the APPLY NOW button & visit our website to download a role specific information pack and click on the link to complete and submit the online application form.

You will also be required to submit a detailed CV.

Completed applications must be submitted by 23.55pm on 1st June 2018.

Failure to supply all the relevant documents will result in your application being terminated.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
