Net Developer, Desktop Applications, WPF/Winforms, £40k
My client are a successful division of a global software parent group, expanding through the success of their payment solutions to the education sector.
We are seeking an energetic Developer to take on an exciting role within their busy team. Reporting to the Development Manager, this role will be a hands-on position for their core web and desktop applications, collaborating with the team to develop, support, test and maintain these products.
You will have the opportunity to work on full life cycle using agile methodologies. The individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment, solving complex problems, whilst working in a friendly, non bureaucratic environment.
The role itself is very varied and will entail:
·Analyse software requirements
·Write unit tests
·Identify product impact and possible implementation options
·Hands-on development in an agile environment
·Test and review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
·Performance and scalability improvement and refactoring of legacy code
·Work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned development tasks in required timeframes
·Daily reporting of development activities
·Work with the team to define and agree estimates
·Follow defined software development processes and standards
·Responsibly follow planned and assigned task lists
·Minimum of 2 years’ experience in software application development
·Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
·Knowledge of Relational Databases
·Self-improvement and ability to learn on the job
·C# or VB.net
·Experience in desktop software development, WinForms and/or WPF especially beneficial
·Source Control Management
Experience of any of the following would be a bonus:
- ASP dot net MVC5
·UI Frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap)
·Mobile / App Development
·Previous use of bug tracking software, such as Bugzilla or Trac
·Knowledge of developing mobile friendly web applications
·Knowledge of modern IDEs
·Ability to use version control software, such as SVN or Git
·Agile/Scrum development process exposure
Alongside your technical skills, you should possess excellent communication skills with the ability to explain issues clearly and simply, both orally and in writing. You'll bring a logical, and analytical, with a methodical approach to problem-solving, have a high attention to detail and be self-motivated and keen to learn new skills.
