Our prestigious client is currently looking to recruit a Senior / Lead Quality Engineer on a full time basis. You will ideally have a strong Automotive or FMCG background. Our client are world leaders in their specialism and this role is now available with immediate effect.

Responsible for:

APQP: To manage APQP activities during current product life.

Audits: Audit and follow up improvement actions on product and processes at supplier locations, and in production.

Team leadership & development: Lead and develop the supplier quality team, and support the mentoring of other members of the team

Problem solving:

Support / lead 8D and DMAIC activities, for plant supplier issues. Assuring effective containments, corrective actions and improvements on key issues.

Conduct component level investigations using statistical tools for line concerns relating to supplied components

Reporting & records:

Maintain quality records, including supplier PPAP’s and concern history. Generate monthly reports in accordance with business requirements

Manufacturing support:

Provide hands on support to the manufacturing team for supplier related process concerns.

Undertake any other duties of which the knowledge, skills and experience required fall within a post holder’s expected capability and commensurate with the post holder’s position in the company.

Post holder is required to :

  • Use initiative and judgement to make decisions and solve complex problems.
  • Work to general instructions, mainly unsupervised and manage own time.
  • Conduct research on request.
  • Communicate effectively in a team, and internally and externally at all levels.
  • Carry out duties satisfactorily as failure to do so may result in substantial cost loss to company, noticeable in the short and longer term.

Education/Qualifications Required:

HND standard or above in a Mechanical / Production engineering discipline.

Six sigma Green Belt

Experience Required:

Relevant experience in a similar role within a high volume production environment.

The ability to understand geometric tolerances on mechanical drawings.

Experience of machining, casting and moulding process would also be beneficial.

Must have proven man management skills

Must have a proven track record of delivering robust permanent corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence of quality issues.

Skills Required:

Problem solving, communications and interpersonal skills are required for the post.
