Job Title: Graduate Portfolio Analyst - Credit Risk - SAS/SQL
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 + bonus & benefits

Our client, a global bank requires a Graduate Analyst to join their Portfolio Management team based in Birmingham.

The role of the Graduate Analyst will develop and maintain the strategies that sit behind the banks acquisition and account management systems to ensure that the decisions are profitable. The role will involve working on a range of analytical projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and maintaining risk management strategies within account opening and account management systems, to maximise returns and support the operational teams.
- Identifying opportunities to safely grow the business without compromising credit quality and returns.
- Optimising the use of statistical models in strategy design.
- Formulating business problems and translating them into an actionable analytics plan. Developing project plan and managing own projects.
- Liaising with key business stakeholders, understanding the requirements and recommending appropriate analysis to drive projects to successful completion.
- Accurately analysing trends, financial data and company status to make informed decisions regarding complex credit issues.

What do you need to apply?

- A degree at 2:1 or above in Mathematics, Economics or Statistics + and strong A Levels including Maths at Grade A.
- SAS and SQL / SPSS experience is preferred, or an ability to quickly develop the necessary technical competencies - Similar experience in R or Python etc. will be considered.
- Strong communication skills to articulate results and provide summary inputs into change proposals
- Good relationship management skills to build strong relationships with peers and key stakeholders - Ability to describe complex numerical problems and outputs in an understandable fashion and bring an analytical approach to portfolio issues to optimise profitability.
