As this is a private school, you will experience an environment where there are little behavioural issues and classes normally range between 10-15 students per class.


Your new role

  • Teach across all levels and abilities. The School follows the Cambridge Latin Course, OCR AS and A2.
  • Identifying clear teaching objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the pupils being taught
  • Regular marking and monitoring pupils' class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback, setting targets for pupils' progress
  • Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils' curiosity, interest and enjoyment in Classics
  • Enable pupils of all abilities to develop and improve their essay writing and debating skills
  • Provide challenge for every pupil and encourage and support all pupils to achieve their potential in Classics
  • Develop in pupils a love of Classics which goes beyond the syllabus
  • Make a contribution to extra-curricular activities
  • Carve out opportunities to take the lead in curriculum development and extra-curricular activities
  • Share in departmental best practice and bring new ideas to the department
  • To invest extra time to ensure pupils achieve the best standard.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent subject knowledge.
  • The ability to engage and motivate your students
  • Proven track record delivering the UK curriculum,
  • You will be able to teach all three subjects (Latin, Classical Greek and Classical Civilisation) at all levels of the School.
