Vehicle Cyber Security Project Engineer
Location: Warwickshire or Milton Keynes
Salary: £45k - £50k + Benefits
Department overviewThe Electrical Integration team is responsible for vehicles’ electrical architectures, functional safety and cyber-security. Our customers expect us to ensure their safety, security and privacy and our engineering design process is central to ensuring that we meet these expectations.
Current trends toward connectivity and increased levels of autonomy bring new challenges; we are looking for someone with the experience and commitment to lead our product development team’s strategy and processes for cyber security.
Job PurposeTo ensure that our products, processes and people are prepared for emerging cyber security risks. Working with our development engineers and suppliers you’ll lead our vehicle cyber security strategy and the processes required to deliver it
Key Responsibilities and TasksCreate and communicate the company’s cyber security strategy for future products.Recommend and implement appropriate cyber security standards and processesAct as a central source of knowledge on cyber security related topicsOwn and maintain vehicle Cybersecurity requirements specificationsCascade requirements and monitor delivery against the across multiple commodity areasLead the technical assessment of the impact of security on components and negotiate solutions with component ownersSupport technical suppliers who are delivering security related features to ensure compliant and timely deliveryActively participate in the application of cyber security best practices to product development projects and programsAssess future products for risks, develop mitigation plans, and support the implementation of these plans.Collaborate with our cyber security research team
Key Skills and ExperienceRelevant Bachelor’s degree3+ years of experience in a cyber security position with technical cyber security expertise and knowledgeSoftware and systems knowledge of complex vehicle systemsProven project delivery experienceThe ability to lead teams and provide high levels of motivationSystems engineering experienceStrong inter-personal skills, communication and leadership attributesFamiliarity with automotive network architecture, modules, and protocols (CAN etc.)Familiarity with Secure Coding practices, processes and methodsAbility to develop and maintain technical documentation as requiredPenetration testing and tools experienceCertifications such as CISSP, CEH, SANS GMOB/GPEN or ITIL.Experience with embedded systems (HW, SW and various operating systems)
