Job Title: Project Finance Accountant

Location: Leeds

Lowell Group is a rapidly expanding innovative business that requires a Project Finance Accountant to join our growing team.

Main purpose of job

  • Finance Business Partner to Change Management
  • Key member of UK Value Creation Team
  • Produce business cases and financial analysis for all UK projects
  • Identify how to measure and define financial performance of projects
  • First point of challenge on robustness and deliverability of business objectives
  • Offer financial opinion and insight to senior management and UK Exec on the priority and value
  • of new and existing initiatives
  • Attend project steering meetings
  • Financial governance and monitoring of projects
  • Ownership of all project numbers and single source of truth for all reporting
  • Produce financial reporting for key audiences, covering budget, forecast, actuals and insight
  • Help to identify mitigating actions and opportunities through holistic knowledge of the UK
  • transformation agenda
  • Help the business to deliver the value creation agenda and identify new opportunities for value

  • Support Procurement to deliver best value for spend

Key responsibilities

Project Finance Business Partner

Fully accountable for the financial assessment of business projects through:

  • Production of UK business cases
  • Preparation and attendance at steering / project meetings
  • Business partnering relationships with Change, IT, and Operations
  • VCP drive / facilitation role on key priorities
  • Improving quality of insight and reporting

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage an effective engagement model with the business stakeholders (senior management,
  • business owners, UK Executive)
  • Raise profile of VCP & forge strong working relationships across UK businesses
  • Ensure effective set-up and tracking of project reporting to the business owners and Change
  • Management

Project Finance Standards

  • Methodologies, accounting, governance, modelling, reporting and quality standards for Project
  • Finance
  • Agree principles and reporting requirements with Finance Senior Management and UK Finance
  • Director
  • Ensure timely assessment of the financial tracking of projects
  • Strong cooperation with project finance colleagues in other regions

Functional expertise/main job related skills

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Part or fully qualified accountant / financial management (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or similar)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Financial Services experience desirable
  • Strong business skills in modelling, innovative thinking, business partnering and financial reporting
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with experience of senior stakeholder management
  • Demonstrable ability to operate independently and take accountability for the delivery of major initiatives in a fast-paced business environment
