My client is one of the largest Engineering maintenance providers in the UK, providing both Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance to thousands of clients across tens of thousands of locations around the UK. They are currently seeking Static Building Maintenance Engineers that would be key to there operations as they are currently expanding the team. If you are self-motivated, flexible and a practical individual with knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general building services, with several years working as an engineer, we may have an opportunity for you. We require engineers to provide PPM service and repair works to our client portfolio based at our client site at Hemel Hempstead.
Continental Shift Pattern
The 2-2 3-2 2-3 rotating shift schedule uses 4 teams (crews) and 2 twelve-hour shifts to provide 24/7 coverage. It consists of a 4-week cycle where each team works 2 consecutive day shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 3 consecutive day shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 2 consecutive day shifts, followed by 3 days off duty, 2 consecutive night shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 3 consecutive night shifts, followed by 2 days off duty, works 2 consecutive night shifts, followed by 3 days off duty. Personnel work an average 42 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities
  • To undertake planned preventative maintenance, servicing and repair works across the site in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • To regularly and effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors in order to maintain and develop excellent relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business.
  • Liaising with internal helpdesk and administration teams to create a collaborative and successful support function.
  • The job holder will be expected to organise their work and time efficiently and to work supportively within a team.
  • Works to be carried out during a continental 12 hour shift pattern – effective handover to be provided to the next shift engineer.
  • Punctual site attendance, well-presented wearing relevant PPE and clothing issued.
  • Completing and submitting clear, concise and accurate reporting for works carried out and any further work required.
  • To be in regular communications with the Contracts Managers on the relevant job progressions.
Knowledge
  • Sound knowledge of M&E building services
  • Sound knowledge of HVAC plant i.e. A/C, Boilers, Controls, Heating and cooling systems, ventilation
  • Good understanding of L8
  • Understanding of safe working on electrics
Qualifications
  • Intermediate/Advanced PC Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Trained in H&S.
  • Time served mechanical/maintenance engineer (apprenticeship).
  • Electrical qualification (City & Guilds/17th Edition).
