Role: Data Architect

Location: Gloucestershire

Rates: £500-550 (dependent upon experience)

Duration 6 months initially (2 years potentially)

A market leading Financial Services company is urgently looking to recruit a Data Architect to assist on an exciting long term assignment:

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete Database Design for Operational Data Store - part of a key Strategic Corporate Development Project (TTP)
  • Ensure alignment to Enterprise Data Model
  • In ErWin - including physical database DDL generation
  • Assist in definition/oversight for development of the related Enterprise Data Services
  • Capture of Key Data Requirements from various sources
  • Development of Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Models for further developments
  • Production of High Level Designs for future TTP Projects, covering Data Models, and Data Flows/Integration including assessment of solution options, with clear pro's/con's and clear reasoned recommendations
  • Design Integration of new solutions with 'legacy' landscape
  • Will require mapping of current and proposed Data Flows, with Roadmap
  • Includes selection of integration approaches and tools
  • Liaison with Development Partner (both onshore and offshore)

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven experience working as a 'hands on' Data Architect
  • Proven experience co-ordinating activity in a Tech Team Lead capacity
  • Data Modelling exposure - Conceptual, Logical, Physical using ErWin
  • Data Flow Mapping exposure - Current and Proposed
  • A dynamic self starter that possesses the ability to deal face off to development teams whilst also communicating a broader strategy response to senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to working in a pragmatic manner to deliver

The following skills are preferred but not essential

  • Financial Services experience
  • Agile / SCRUM methodology knowledge
  • Data Virtualisation knowledge - especially Denodo
