About the College

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the major providers of education and training in Yorkshire and Humberside. Our client is one of the largest providers of A Level and vocational programmes for 16 to 19 year olds in the region. They also deliver a range of Traineeships and Apprenticeships and work with over 1,000 employers, helping them to recruit apprentices and provide bespoke training for their employees. They also offer a range of Higher Education courses for full and part-time study as well as many Adult Learning opportunities.

They are proud of their outstanding success rates for students studying at all levels, which have been consistently above national averages for the last 21 years, as well as the outstanding student progression into higher-level study and employment.

They are proud to have been judged as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. They are also 'outstanding' in terms of their financial health. Our client has first-class resources designed with post-16 students in mind and recently opened a brand new Construction Centre. These, combined with the highest standards for individual student achievement, provides an outstanding environment for teaching and learning.

About the Role
The Engineering Division is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced engineer with a multi-skilled background typically in areas such as Engineering Maths and Science, Electrical/Electronic Principles, PLCs, Microcontrollers, Combination & Sequential Logic, PCB Design, Industrial Process Control etc.to complement the existing electronic/electrical team. Someone who is keen to teach across a range of programmes, predominantly their Level 3 BTEC, but also their expanding Level 4/5 HNC/D provision.

Knowledge of Pearson BTEC Engineering programmes at Level 3,4 & 5, and BTEC quality assurance processes would be an advantage to this role. Previous experience teaching these disciplines & qualifications in an FE institution would be an advantage, but this is not essential as training will be given to candidates with little or no teaching experience. Applications are welcome from experienced engineers who are wishing to move across into the teaching profession. Ideally candidates will have both teaching and industrial experience.

If you do not possess a full teaching qualification - Cert ED, PGCE or equivalent - you can study with them part time AND they will subsidise you 50% of the cost of the course, AND offer you an interest free loan on the balance. However candidates must possess a minimum of HND/Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or the equivalent industrial qualification/s.

The post is required for August 2018 in preparation for the new academic year.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
