Infrastructure Manager

Bradford, West Yorkshire

£60,000 + benefits


My client a market leader in the education sector, are recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to manage the technical aspect of the live services team. You will manage the team in incident and problem identification, recording, investigation and diagnosis.

The right candidate will be highly motivated and keen to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong technical aptitude to meet the demands of the role and excellent communication, problem solving skills and organisational abilities are a must. You will possess strong T-SQL skills, Windows System Admin Skills, and a solid understanding of Microsoft Azure.

Key roles and responsibilities:

· At least 3 years experience in an Infrastructure Management environment

· Excellent technical skills including experience of system software to a high standard

· Good understanding of the issues and constraints (e.g. hardware platforms, networking, etc.) of developing technical solutions for web-based applications and digital media projects

· Data Centre experience and sysadmin background

· Excellent interpersonal, client and communication skills - the ability to simplify and succinctly communicate complex ideas and scenarios

· The commitment and passion to stay on top of technical developments for you own benefit and to retain the respect of the team

· The ability to present technical concepts in an authoritative and clear manner

· The ability to effectively delegate tasks and serve as an integrator of efforts necessary for multiple teams to produce a coherent product

· The ability to influence others and build trust

Essential skills:

· Strong analytical approach to problem solving

· Proactive rather than reactive approach is required most of the time

· Virtualisation - VMware and / or Hyper-V

· Infrastructure monitoring

· Disaster Recovery

· MS operating systems

· SQL Server and SQL queries and practical understanding of Microsoft SQL Database Administration

· A good understanding of Networking principles and concepts; exposure to multiple vendors of Firewall and Load Balancer devices such as Cisco, Juniper, F5 and Brocade would be advantageous

· Web Services (SOAP & REST)

· Azure knowledge

Desirable skills:

· Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience and / or MCP or MCSD or ITIL qualifications

· MS Windows, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, SQL & IIS (MSCE)

· Networking and Network Security & Compliance (CCNA)

· Project Management and Agile methodologies
