We are looking for a talented Senior Project Planner (Bid and Initiation phase) to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England.

In addition to the core planning skills identified below, this opportunity requires an individual with the ability to influence key stakeholders, acting as a change agent, in order to achieve outputs.

Main activities include:
• Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Establish and maintain a costed Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM) in line with the product based WBS in order to review estimates and establish the management control structures - Integrated Project Team (IPT) and Control Accounts (CA).
• Establish and maintain project plans including the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the proposal /
contract work (incl. defining the scope of work through the establishment of the product based WBS whilst: - achieving contractual obligations and detailing all milestones/deliverables
- defined business and stakeholder objectives
- working within budgetary constraints
- identifying issues & constraints (financial / schedule / etc)
• Creating and consolidating detail/master schedules for large complex projects, including critical paths.
• Maintain version control for WBS, RAM and IMS in line with bid changes.
• Capture of baseline schedules and assisting in recalculating remaining work.
• Undertake and co-ordinate the updating of the project plans, schedule interdependencies, schedule integration, durations, budgets, Estimate At Completion, etc
• Monitor and Review project cost and schedule performance, undertaking a regular analysis of planned and actual data, establish accurate variances to plan, and prepare a forecast of future project performance utilising agreed standard measures and algorithms.
• Accountability for management performance reporting for complex programme schedules
• Generating, analysing and reporting variance against the project baseline and providing advice to project managers on opportunities for project efficiency and recovery. Use of EVM techniques as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Effective and persuasive in building a network of contacts creating strong relationships with the key stakeholders.
• Expert knowledge of project planning processes and procedures (6 -10 years of experience)
• Proficiency in working with Microsoft packages (e.g. Word, Excel) & project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project and SAP PS).
• Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals, deadlines & priorities.
• Educated to Degree or HND/HNC level ideally in a subject relevant to project management
• Association Project Management (APM) level D or equivalent qualification in Project Management desirable
