Portfolio Credit Control a pleased to be recruiting for a rare and exciting opportunity for a part time credit controller role in the professional services for 25 hours per week.

The ideal candidate would work Monday to Friday 5 hours per day but flexibility is also available. There is plenty of support from the rest of the finance team and a great opportunity to work in the professional services

The Credit Controller role will entail the below;

  • Proactively monitor sales ledger to identify those clients who become overdue
  • Chase overdue debts on a continual basis by telephone, letter and email
  • Prioritize collection of debt by value and clients payment profile
  • Despatch monthly statements, reminder letters and copy invoices if needed
  • To liaise with partners regarding any credit control issues with their respective clients
  • Resolve issues to client satisfaction, including chasing information / raising of credit notes and reconciling account
  • Take responsibility for agreeing with client a payment plan
  • Accurately post and allocate all incoming receipts
  • Investigate unallocated cash to identify issues and rectify anomalies
  • Liaise with colleagues in order to resolve invoicing queries.
  • Monitoring cash received on a daily basis
  • Take client credit card payments and refunds
  • Prepare small claims cases and represent the firm in court (if necessary)
  • Dealing with bank cheques and monitoring standing orders.

Along with the above duties, the candidate will also have the below previous experience;

  • Experience of credit control essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to prioritise tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Able to work on own initiative and be able to work as part of a team
  • Have flexible work attitude and be pro-active
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confident in dealing with people of partner level on a daily basis
  • Experience of handling difficult clients
  • Good business writing and client service skills
  • Be able to build strong relationships with clients
  • Strong IT skills
  • Logical approach and process driven
  • Experience of working within a professional practice preferred
